SICURA SHIPPING LLC

EMAIL, SMS, WHATSAPP & MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS PRIVACY ADDENDUM

Effective Date: September 23, 2026
Last Updated: September 24, 2026

This section supplements the Sicura Shipping LLC Privacy Policy and describes how Sicura may use email addresses, mobile telephone numbers, and WhatsApp accounts for transactional, service-related, customer-support, and marketing communications.

Sicura may use third-party communications platforms, including SMS providers, email marketing platforms, customer relationship management systems, and other communication service providers, including Meta Platforms and the WhatsApp Business Platform, and authorized chatbot and AI service providers, to deliver these communications.

1. TYPES OF COMMUNICATIONS

Sicura may send several different types of communications.

A. Transactional and Service Communications

These communications relate directly to a customer's use of Sicura.

Examples include:

  • Account verification
  • Password resets
  • Account security alerts
  • Package arrival notifications
  • Package status updates
  • Shipping confirmations
  • Payment confirmations
  • Delivery notifications
  • Pickup notifications
  • Claim updates
  • Customer-service communications
  • Important changes to Sicura services
  • Security or fraud alerts
  • Required legal or administrative notices

These communications may be sent when reasonably necessary to provide the service requested by the customer.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not necessarily stop transactional or service-related communications.

2. EMAIL MARKETING

With appropriate consent where required by applicable law, Sicura may send promotional emails concerning:

  • Sicura services
  • Shipping promotions
  • Discounts
  • Special offers
  • Sicura+ membership
  • New services
  • New products
  • Partner offers
  • Events
  • Customer promotions
  • Other information about Sicura that may be relevant to customers

Marketing emails will include an appropriate method for unsubscribing.

When you unsubscribe from marketing emails, Sicura will stop sending marketing emails to the applicable email address within the period required by applicable law.

You may continue to receive transactional or service-related emails when reasonably necessary to provide Sicura services or comply with legal obligations.

3. EMAIL MARKETING PROVIDERS

Sicura may use third-party email marketing and communication platforms to send emails on our behalf.

These providers may process:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Customer ID
  • Marketing preferences
  • Email subscription status
  • Email delivery information
  • Email open or interaction information
  • IP address or technical information
  • Unsubscribe information
  • Campaign information

Sicura may use this information to deliver, monitor, secure, and improve its communications.

Sicura will require appropriate service providers to handle information in accordance with applicable contractual, privacy, and security requirements.

4. SMS AND TEXT MESSAGE MARKETING

Sicura may offer customers the ability to receive SMS or text messages.

Marketing text messages may include:

  • Promotions
  • Discounts
  • Special offers
  • New services
  • Sicura+ offers
  • Product announcements
  • Shipping promotions
  • Limited-time offers
  • Other promotional communications

Marketing SMS messages will only be sent where Sicura has obtained the consent required by applicable law and applicable messaging-provider requirements.

5. SMS CONSENT IS OPTIONAL

Consent to receive marketing text messages is not required to:

  • Create a Sicura account
  • Purchase Sicura services
  • Receive packages
  • Use the Sicura website
  • Complete a transaction
  • Use Sicura's shipping services

Customers may use Sicura's services without consenting to receive marketing text messages.

SMS marketing consent will be requested through a separate, voluntary consent mechanism.

SMS consent will not be bundled with acceptance of the Sicura Terms & Conditions or Privacy Policy.

Where a checkbox is used for SMS marketing consent, it will not be selected by default.

6. SMS CONSENT LANGUAGE

Where appropriate, Sicura may use language substantially similar to the following when obtaining SMS marketing consent:

"Yes, I would like to receive recurring promotional text messages from Sicura Shipping LLC at the mobile number I provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy apply."

The exact wording may be modified as necessary to comply with applicable law, carrier requirements, or messaging-platform requirements.

7. SMS MESSAGE FREQUENCY

The frequency of marketing text messages may vary depending on promotions, customer preferences, and Sicura's messaging program.

Sicura will provide applicable frequency disclosures when obtaining consent where required.

8. SMS OPT-OUT

You may stop receiving marketing text messages at any time by replying:

STOP

or another recognized opt-out keyword supported by the applicable messaging platform.

After receiving a valid opt-out request, Sicura will stop sending subsequent marketing messages to that mobile number except as permitted by applicable law.

A final confirmation message may be sent to confirm that the opt-out request has been processed.

9. SMS HELP

You may request assistance by replying:

HELP

or by contacting:

support@sicurashipping.com

213-433-7376

Sicura may provide information about the messaging program and instructions for managing your subscription.

10. MESSAGE AND DATA RATES

Message and data rates may apply.

Your mobile carrier may charge you for text messages or data according to your wireless plan.

Sicura is not responsible for charges imposed by your wireless carrier.

11. CARRIERS

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Message delivery may be affected by wireless coverage, network availability, carrier restrictions, device settings, or other factors outside Sicura's control.

12. SMS CONSENT RECORDS

Sicura may maintain records demonstrating when, where, and how a customer provided SMS consent.

These records may include:

  • Mobile telephone number
  • Date and time of consent
  • Consent language presented
  • Website or application through which consent was obtained
  • Campaign or messaging program
  • IP address or technical information where available
  • Source of consent
  • Date and time of opt-out
  • Opt-out method
  • Re-consent information

Sicura may retain these records for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with applicable law, respond to disputes, administer the messaging program, or comply with provider requirements.

13. SMS CONSENT IS PROGRAM-SPECIFIC

Consent to receive one category of Sicura text messages does not automatically constitute consent to receive unrelated categories of marketing messages. Consent to receive SMS marketing also does not automatically authorize WhatsApp marketing, or vice versa.

For example:

A customer who consents to receive Sicura shipping notifications does not automatically consent to receive Sicura promotional marketing messages.

Where separate consent is required, Sicura will obtain separate consent.

14. MOBILE INFORMATION AND SMS CONSENT WILL NOT BE SOLD OR SHARED FOR THIRD-PARTY MARKETING

Sicura does not sell or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Sicura may disclose mobile information to service providers that process messages on Sicura's behalf, such as SMS or communications platforms, when necessary to operate the Sicura messaging program.

Those providers are not authorized to use Sicura's SMS consent information for their own independent marketing purposes.

15. THIRD-PARTY SMS PROVIDERS

Sicura may use third-party messaging providers, including Twilio or similar providers.

These providers may process information necessary to deliver messages, including:

  • Mobile telephone number
  • Message content
  • Delivery status
  • Opt-in status
  • Opt-out status
  • Messaging timestamps
  • Technical information

Sicura selects and configures messaging providers to support its business and compliance obligations.

The use of a third-party provider does not give that provider permission to use Sicura customer SMS consent information for independent marketing purposes.

16. EMAIL AND SMS PREFERENCES

Customers may manage their marketing communication preferences through available Sicura preference-management tools or by contacting:

support@sicurashipping.com

A customer may request to stop receiving:

  • Marketing email
  • Marketing SMS
  • Certain promotional communications

Stopping one communication channel does not necessarily stop another.

For example, unsubscribing from marketing email does not automatically mean that SMS marketing consent has been revoked.

Customers should use the applicable unsubscribe mechanism or contact Sicura if they wish to change multiple communication preferences.

17. MARKETING ANALYTICS

Where permitted by law and subject to applicable disclosures and choices, Sicura and its marketing providers may collect information concerning interactions with marketing communications.

This may include:

  • Whether an email was delivered
  • Whether an email was opened
  • Whether a link was clicked
  • Whether a customer interacted with a campaign
  • Whether a customer unsubscribed
  • Whether a message was delivered
  • Whether an SMS was rejected or undeliverable

Sicura may use this information to administer, measure, secure, and improve its marketing programs.

18. NO MARKETING CONSENT THROUGH SILENCE

Sicura will not treat silence, failure to unsubscribe, or merely providing a telephone number as consent to receive recurring promotional SMS where affirmative consent is required.

Where marketing consent is required, Sicura will use an appropriate affirmative opt-in process.

19. CHANGES TO MARKETING PROGRAMS

Sicura may change or discontinue a marketing communication program.

If a material change requires new consent under applicable law or messaging-provider requirements, Sicura will obtain new consent where appropriate.

20. RE-CONSENT

If required by applicable law, carrier requirements, messaging-provider rules, or Sicura's compliance procedures, Sicura may request that customers confirm or renew their marketing consent.

A customer who does not provide required re-consent may be removed from the applicable marketing program.

21. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

Sicura may have customers located outside the United States, including customers in Guatemala.

SMS and email marketing laws vary by jurisdiction.

Where Sicura sends marketing communications to customers located outside the United States, Sicura may apply additional consent, disclosure, opt-out, or other requirements applicable to the recipient's jurisdiction.

22. WHATSAPP BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS

Sicura uses WhatsApp Business services, including services provided by Meta Platforms and authorized WhatsApp Business Platform providers, to communicate with customers. WhatsApp may be used for account assistance, package arrival and tracking notifications, shipping quotations, payment and delivery updates, claims, customer support, and other communications related to services requested by customers. Sicura may also offer promotional WhatsApp messages where the customer has provided the consent required by applicable law and WhatsApp platform rules.

23. WHATSAPP CONSENT AND MESSAGE TYPES

Customers who contact Sicura through WhatsApp may receive replies related to their inquiry and subsequent service-related messages as permitted by applicable law and platform rules. Providing a telephone number, opening an account, or consenting to transactional messages does not by itself constitute consent to receive recurring promotional WhatsApp messages. Sicura will obtain separate affirmative consent for WhatsApp marketing when required. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchasing Sicura services. Message frequency varies; mobile data charges may apply. WhatsApp communications are subject to the recipient's availability, settings, and platform delivery rules.

24. AUTOMATED CHATBOTS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Sicura uses automated chatbots and AI-assisted systems to answer common questions, explain shipping services, provide package and account information when authorized, help customers submit inquiries, route requests, and assist customer-support staff. A customer may interact with an automated system rather than a human representative. Automated responses may be incomplete or incorrect and do not replace final shipment quotations, customs determinations, written service terms, or decisions made by authorized Sicura personnel. Customers may request a human representative by typing “AGENT” or “ASESOR” or by contacting support@sicurashipping.com. Sicura will not represent that a chatbot is a human agent.

25. WHATSAPP AND AI DATA PROCESSING

To operate WhatsApp messaging and automated assistance, Sicura and its authorized service providers may process telephone numbers, WhatsApp profile names, customer identifiers, message content, attached files and photographs, conversation history, shipping and tracking details, consent preferences, message timestamps, delivery and read status where available, and relevant technical metadata. Sicura may share the minimum information reasonably needed with Meta, authorized WhatsApp Business Platform providers, CRM systems, chatbot providers, and AI service providers to deliver messages, respond to inquiries, prevent fraud, support customers, and improve service quality. Data may be processed in countries outside the customer's residence, subject to applicable safeguards and privacy requirements. Sicura will not sell WhatsApp marketing consent or mobile information to third parties for their independent marketing.

26. AUTOMATION SAFEGUARDS AND HUMAN REVIEW

Sicura may monitor or review conversations for service quality, fraud prevention, security, and compliance, subject to applicable law. Customers should avoid sending passwords, full payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information in WhatsApp conversations. Material disputes, protection claims, exceptional customs assessments, and requests involving sensitive personal information should be referred to an authorized human representative.

27. WHATSAPP MARKETING OPT-OUT AND PREFERENCES

Customers may withdraw WhatsApp marketing consent at any time by replying “STOP,” “BAJA,” or “NO MÁS,” by using an available WhatsApp blocking or reporting feature, or by contacting support@sicurashipping.com. Sicura will honor valid opt-out requests in accordance with applicable law and platform requirements. Opting out of WhatsApp marketing does not automatically stop necessary transactional communications or marketing through other channels; customers may manage each channel separately. Sicura will retain appropriate consent and opt-out records for compliance purposes.

28. WHATSAPP MARKETING CONSENT LANGUAGE

Where Sicura seeks WhatsApp marketing consent, it may use a separate, unchecked opt-in with language substantially similar to: “Sí, deseo recibir mensajes promocionales de Sicura Shipping LLC por WhatsApp al número que proporciono. La frecuencia varía. Pueden aplicarse cargos por datos. Mi consentimiento no es obligatorio para comprar servicios. Puedo cancelar los mensajes promocionales respondiendo BAJA o STOP. Se aplican los Términos y la Política de Privacidad.” The final wording and opt-in flow must be reviewed against the rules applicable to the country of the recipient and the WhatsApp Business Platform.
